The International Screen Institute is dedicated to addressing gender inequality and promoting diversity and inclusion within the film and television industries. Diversity and inclusivity are central to its mission and guide all aspects of the Institute’s work, including the selection of participants, speakers, mentors, and experts.

A respectful, inclusive, and safe learning environment is a core priority. The International Screen Institute values individual differences, promotes equal opportunities, and upholds fairness and dignity in all interactions. Active measures are taken to ensure that no participant is disadvantaged on the basis of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, socio-economic background, age, disability, caregiving responsibilities, or other personal circumstances.

Recognising that systemic barriers can limit access to professional development opportunities, a range of measures is in place to support equitable participation. These include diversity-focused scholarships, fee reductions, and a 50% course fee discount for applicants from Low and Lower-Middle Income Countries (LCC).

To further reduce practical barriers, targeted support is available for working parents and participants with additional needs. This includes childcare bursaries and assistance for those who require support due to disability or impairment, ensuring that individual circumstances do not prevent full participation in the Institute’s programmes.

By actively promoting gender equality and diversity, the International Screen Institute aims to build a talent pool that reflects the richness and diversity of contemporary Europe and the global screen sector. Policies and practices are reviewed on a regular basis to respond to evolving needs and to foster meaningful and lasting inclusion across the industry.
